REQUIRED to attend Summer Learning:
- 9th-12th grade student who failed an EOC tested course (Semester 2 or course B of 11th Grade American Literature/Composition, Algebra: Concepts & Connections, Biology, and/or United States History)
Recommended to attend Summer Learning:
- 9th-12th grade student who needs to obtain credit for a previously failed course
- 9th-12th grade student who wants to take a course to accelerate during summer school (Fulton Virtual only, tuition required)
Fulton County Schools will offer three options for students who need to obtain credit for a previously failed course. The options will be Face-to-Face Summer Learning, Fulton Virtual, and the Credit Recovery Program. Please note that students who fail a semester of an EOC course, but opt against summer school participation, must follow the Summer School “Opt-Out” instructions online. This is simply your way of declaring your desire to opt out of summer school. If students select this option, students will need to take the course prior to graduation, as all EOC courses are required for graduation.

Face-to-Face Summer Learning at Roswell HS:
The following courses will be offered in the face-to-face summer session from June 5 – July 3, 2024.

Virtual Summer School
Fulton Virtual (FV) Summer Learning:
Offers select courses outlined at High School Summer Learning (fultonschools.org) Students may retake up to two semester-long course credits during Fulton Virtual summer learning at no cost. Each semester course requires 3.5 hour minimum work per day for 5-week course.

Step 1: Download and complete the 2024-2025 Online course contract with your parent (2 sheets)
Step 2: Register for your course(s) on the online provider’s website
- Choose the semesters for your online courses – Fall 2024 or Spring 2025
- A courses = Semester 1 (Fall), B courses = Semester 2 (Spring)
- NOTE: if you are taking a yearlong class, register for both A (fall) and B (spring) semesters during the registration period.

FULTON VIRTUAL (FV)

Description: Online courses have specific beginning and ending dates which align with the school calendar and curriculum. Class has a specific syllabus the student needs to follow and LOG IN to work every day. The virtual teacher monitors and evaluates the student’s classwork remotely and provides support upon student request. Click for FV Course Catalog

GA VIRTUAL SCHOOL (GAVS)

If you failed a course and plan to recover the credit during the school year --
GEORGIA VIRTUAL CREDIT RECOVERY (GVCR)
Description: Online course students work on independently on their own time and complete at their own pace. Credit Recovery classes are only offered during the regular school year and are taken in addition to the 6 classes in the student’s regular schedule. Classes can be worked on from anywhere the internet is available.
- Criteria: Student must have already attempted and failed a course
- Cost: Free
- Register: See your Counselor in the counseling office for a registration course form and create a login name and password with the Graduation Coach
- Follow-up: Email the Graduation Coach for questions, logins, and unlocking course tests
RETAKING CLASS AT CENTENNIAL
- Criteria: There must be room in the student’s schedule. This option could delay graduation date if student fails several classes.
